After just being sentenced to 46 months in prison, Kodak Black is facing 2 new possession of a firearm by a felon charges which both carry the possibility of a 30 year sentence.

According to the Miami Herald, One count was for a weapon Kodak reportedly purchased in January of this year, and one was for the gun he was arrested with at Rolling Loud in Miami on May 11.

His lawyer Bradford Cohen spoke briefly on the charges on Instagram under XXL’s post about the news, claiming the Miami case would be resolved soon:

“This is what happens when the government feels like they lost when a young man [gets] 46 months on a filing a false document…Miami has charged him with the purchase of the weapons, because of a little rarely known law if you had a juvenile prior you can’t possess a weapon until you are 24. The Miami case will be dealt with very soon.”
