XXXTentacion’s close friend and fellow Florida rapper Tank Head today responded to negative comments Chicago’s Vic Mensa made about XXXTentacion in a recent cypher at the 2018 BET Award show.

The comments were made during the yearly BET Cypher, and XXXTentacion’s mother Cleopatra was in attendance to collect the ‘Best New HipHop Artist’ award which was given to X. The lyrics reportedly contained the line “your favorite rapper is an abuser” and made reference to death, and XXXTentacion’s mom was said to be visibly upset.

DJ Scheme commented on the freestyle and called Mensa out on Twitter. Mensa later posted a short video which some have taken as a response saying “really though, who wanna fight me though”, which triggered Tank’s response today.

The freestyle is yet to be edited and released to the general public, and it’s unclear whether BET will leave the controversial lyrics in the final version.
