Chicago Rapper Jank The Jewla (AKA Jank) was sentenced to a year in prison a few weeks ago for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon (carrying a firearm as a felon).
The rapper is affiliated with Smylez, Hittz and other well known drill artists, and was taken into custody just a number of weeks before Smylez’ untimely death.

His hard hitting lyricism over Smylez’ beats first caught our attention back when the drill scene peaked in popularity in 2013, and he has ben consistently putting out underground bangers for a while now.
