Producer, rapper and sound engineer Izzerick ‘Smylez’ Aigbokhan of Lil Jojo’s Brick$quad reportedly died from health complications today at the young age of 24.

Exact details of his death have not been revealed yet, but tributes to the well-loved scene figurehead poured in via Twitter from his friends and all the musicians he has worked with in the past. His close friend Lil Mister was one of the first to post about the good hearted musician’s death, with others like Rico Recklezz and Killa Kellz following as the news spread.

The Chicagoan began his musical career as a beat maker alongside fellow Chicago rapper/producer Young Chop and emerged as one of the best known and highly respected producers in the Chicago rap scene. He helped to form the original ‘Drill’ sound and will be sorely missed in Chicago and worldwide where his music is played by thousands.
