Police in Rockford, Illinois were investigating “suspicious activity” yesterday at the apartment Chicago rapper GMEBE Bandz (EBE Bandz, Billy Da Kid) was renting.

Locals on the scene who asked what was going on were simply told the police were “doing an investigation”, but Rockford Police Department have not officially announced what sort of crime they are investigating. Some media sources have claimed they’re investigating a murder, but this his yet to be confirmed. Bandz, real name William Pickering, is yet to be officially linked to the investigation, which is continuing.

Police yellow tape cordoned off the area around the apartment complex’s garages, and Bandz’ distinctive red and black Dodge Hellcat (featured in his recent music video ‘Run It Up’) can be seen inside one of them. The location shown in the local’s photos also seems to match the location of the video shoot perfectly.

A local news site that reports activity on Police scanners detailed that numerous Police officers had been on the scene since around 10 a.m. in the morning and remained there until around 6:30 p.m, analysing the scene and apparently investigating Bandz’ disappearance.

Bandz has been officially listed as a missing person by his mother since his disappearance after last being heard from on Sunday May 26th. His friends, family and GMEBE affiliates have posted him a number of times hoping for his safe return. Follow us @RapCatchUp and subscribe for updates as they become available.
