Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke was fatally shot in Hollwood Hills, California in the early hours of Wednesday morning. According to local authorities, 2-4 men wearing hoods and masks broke into the property he was staying in on Hercules Drive in Hollywood Hills at around 4:30am on the morning of Wednesday February 19th. The men “fired multiple shots striking and critically wounding” Pop Smoke before being seen fleeing on foot.

The rapper, who was just 20 years old, was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood where he was pronounced dead. The suspects have yet to be identified or apprehended, and authorities have said it’s unclear at this time if Smoke knew the shooters.

Pop Smoke’s last ever post to his Facebook story (Real Pop Smoke) may have accidentally publicly revealed the address of his property while showing off bags of clothes gifted to him by designer Mike Amiri. The bags featured address labels which if screen recorded or paused clearly showed an address on Hercules Drive in Los Angeles, which is where authorities were called to early Wednesday morning.

The rapper posted to his Instagram story just a few hours before the incident and even tweeted just 2 hours ago at the time of publishing this article. Tributes to the young Brooklyn rapper have flooded social media since the news broke. Rest In Peace Bashar Barakah Pop Smoke Jackson.
