Chicago rapper and Glo Gang/GBE member Tray Savage was shot and killed in the Chatham neighbourhood on the South Side of Chicago today [6/19/2020].

According to authorities the 26-year-old, real name Kentray Young, had just dropped his girlfriend off in the 8100 block of South Evans Avenue at around 11 a.m., and was hit by a number of shots while travelling southbound. He was hit in the neck and shoulder and reportedly lost control of his vehicle, hitting 2 other cars before the car came to a stop.

He was rushed to University of Chicago Medical Center, but was pronounced dead shortly later. A passer-by shared footage of the crime scene, which showed a sky-blue car wrecked into another car and police tape cordoning off the scene. A white SUV, which some witnesses said was a Mazda, was identified as being in the area at the time of the shooting and was last seen on Cottage Grove Avenue.

Tray Savage was a member of the original Glory Boyz group hailing from the South Side of Chicago, as well as the Glo Gang group that it evolved into. He is the 3rd member of Glo Gang to be lost to gun violence in Chicago, with Mario ‘Blood Money’ Hess’ murder in 2014 & Marvin ‘Capo’ Carr’s murder the very next year.

Glo In Peace Kentray ‘Tray Savage’ Young.
