According to XXL, Florida rapper YNW Melly is facing a possible sentence of capital punishment for just one of the multiple charges he is facing, his alleged involvement in the deaths of his two close friends, known as YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy.

According to documents obtained by XXL, the State of Florida believe they can ‘prove beyond a reasonable doubt” that Melly killed his friends for “financial gain”, claiming the “murder was especially heinous, atrocious or cruel, and he committed homicide in a cold, calculated and premeditated manner”. Their belief he is a gang member is also contributing to their desire to seek the ultimate penalty.

Police believe that Melly and his associate, named Cortlen ‘YNW Bortlen’ Henry, shot and killed their 2 friends in the same car they were travelling in, before riding around for an “extended period of time” with the bodies while they allegedly constructed a story about a drive-by shooting and put together an alibi.

Police forensics reportedly confirmed that some of the bullets fired at the 2 victims came from the back seat of the vehicle, conflicting with Melly and Bortlen’s story about a drive-by.
