Bobby Shmurda’s trial has been delayed for a second time.

After being originally scheduled to start on February 22nd of this year, the trial was pushed back to May and it has now been revealed the trial will not begin until September. New York’s Director of Public Information at the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor Kati Cornell confirmed the postponement to XXL on Monday. Attorneys representing Shmurda and his GS9 affiliates Rowdy Rebel, Quento, and Montana Flea were reported to have requested the delay, although their reasons for doing so are currently unknown.

Bobby Shmurda & his GS9 crew have been in the news a lot lately, with rumours of his release starting last week when he announced he would be suing the NYPD for false imprisonment in relation to his arrest almost 2 years ago. He claimed that the NYPD illegally entered the home of his friend and that he was falsely accused of possessing a gun and drug paraphernalia. Bobby Shmurda, real name Ackquille Jean Pollard, is facing numerous charges including conspiracy, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia which he has pled not guilty to.

In April, two of Shmurda’s other GS9 affiliates Rasha and A-Rod were found guilty of murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy in relation to the death of a 19-year old who was supposedly a member of a rival gang, according to a report from XXL.
