Rapper GMEBE Bravo was reportedly shot and his 2 teenage associates were killed yesterday in a drive-by shooting in the Grand Crossing neighbourhood.
According to police, the teens (two boys and a girl) were standing on the corner of 76th and Dorchester around 3:30 p.m. when a car pulled up and someone fired shots at the group. Authorities say a 16-year-old, Donta Parker, was shot in the head and a 17-year-old, Sakinah Reed, was shot in the chest. Both were later pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in suburban Oak Lawn.
Another 16-year-old boy, who goes by the rap name ‘GMEBE Bravo’ was reportedly shot in the hand & ankle. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition has since stabilized & he has posted a number of Instagram video from his hospital bed.
“I got up, and I looked down the street, and I saw her laying there. The girl. I didn’t know nobody else had got shot, and I just her. I saw she laying there and ain’t nobody there to help her,” said a witness who lives near the scene of the shooting.
Detectives interviewed witnesses and combed the block for evidence Tuesday night. Neighbors said they heard at least half a dozen shots.
